2024 Oyster Internship Program Highlights!
|
The “World is My Oyster” program, launched by HPS in collaboration with its alumni (the Bangalore Alumni Chapter, and the batches of 1973 and 1983), is designed to open up a world of opportunities for our students, setting them on the path to becoming global leaders. This unique initiative leverages the expertise of alumni, school faculty, and external professionals. It encompasses three core pillars: ‘Know Your Career’, ‘Know Yourself’, and ‘Know Your Environment’, enhanced by a ‘Train the Trainer’ initiative for staff development.

The first outcome of this Oyster program is the “One Day Internship” program, which was piloted during the summer holiday break, to great success. We had 120 internships delivered, 110 students participated, 25 alumni-driven companies participated, across 11 career streams.

The Alumni hopes to drive this to 100% of the students of 9th grade and 10th grade, across every career interest conceivable.

Participating in the program as one of the mentors, Srikant, CEO of Redmatter Marketing Agency and an alumnus from the 2002 batch, reflected, “Being an alumnus of HPS, this program is a wonderful way for me to give back to the school what it has given to me. It’s very heartening to see such bright students already getting serious about their career.”
“It’s been a very heartening response from all involved - the school, students, companies, and of course fellow alumni,” said Sarath Naru of the Oyster Alumni team. Sharanya, a 9th grader, added, “After the Oyster Program, in all of its glory, I received the simple push, the ‘leap of faith’ I needed to take action and discover myself, and pave the way for new discoveries in my learning journey.”
